Introduction

As the industry starts its journey through the energy transition, it is important for individuals working across industries to be aware of the consequences of climate change and the actions required to manage the physical and transition risks. This presentation shares a high level overview on climate change, before delving into the low carbon concept and sharing big energy company’s energy transition strategy, and current activities that are contributing to decarbonisation such as increasing renewables and creating green energy hubs.

Aynura Damirli is a senior pressure systems and integrity engineer at BP and has 11 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and is an API 510/570 Certified Inspector. Aynura is a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and a Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council. Aynura has also been a Queen Elizabeth prize for Engineering (QEPrize) STEM Ambassador and a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) STEM Mentor.
