Making a purchase

Purchasing online

EEMUA accepts online payments by credit card (Visa and MasterCard) and American Express. If you experience difficulties when ordering by card, please proceed with the order selecting the Invoice option. You can then email sales@eemua.org with your Order Number to request a call back or phone the EEMUA team on +44 (0) 207 488 0801 and ask to speak to someone in our sales department.

We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. If EEMUA does not have the publication you have ordered in stock immediately, we will order further copies and will not charge you until your order is shipped.

Invoices for purchases are available to view in the My Orders section of My EEMUA.

Alternative ways to purchase

EEMUA operates a ‘cash with order’ policy. If you are not purchasing online, we will confirm, in the first instance, that we have received your order, but a contract will not exist between us at that point. If you are an EEMUA member company employee, you will be entitled to a member discount of the same amount as you would have received if you had purchased online.

If you choose not to make payment online, you may provide your credit card information to us by phone. You may also pay by bank draft or cheque. Please note: if you are outside the UK and are not purchasing by credit card, you must make payment in Sterling either through a bank draft in GB Pounds or a cheque in GB Pounds.

We will not be able to despatch your order until we have received payment in full. We do this in case we have made a mistake in pricing or can’t supply a publication you have ordered. If the price has changed, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable and that you still want to go ahead with your order.

Shipping and handling

Orders will normally be dispatched by 'Royal Mail Signed For' to addresses in the UK, and by 'Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed' to the rest of the world. If your order is to be delivered by courier, we will normally use DHL or another recognised courier service.

When you will receive your order

We aim to dispatch orders for hard copy publications within two working days of a contract existing. International orders sent by Royal Mail normally arrive within 14 days and orders sent by courier normally arrive within 4 days.

Please be aware that EEMUA digital publications are subject to a manual authorisation process. This is done during normal office hours Monday – Friday 9am – 4.30pm (GMT) excluding UK Bank Holidays. Once this has been completed the publication will be accessible when logging into My EEMUA under My Orders for 14 days.

Publications not in stock at EEMUA

If EEMUA does not have the publication you have ordered in stock immediately, we will order further copies. We normally receive these within 21 days and then despatch your order to you directly.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

EEMUA is registered for VAT. Delegate places at EEMUA events are subject to the local VAT rates of where the event is hosted. Sales of digital and hard copy publications to UK customers are subject to VAT at zero rate (0 per cent).

Credit card security

When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using at least 128 bit encryption. They are decrypted only after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Assurance of publication quality

The contents of all EEMUA technical publications are developed and maintained by association members, who are significant purchasers and users of engineering equipment and materials. The association has a reputation and history stretching back more than 60 years.

Purchasing multiple copies of the same publication

For multiple copy purchases (greater than nine copies of the same publication) and purchases from EEMUA partner training centres, please contact the EEMUA team directly via phone or e-mail.

Amendments to publications

From time to time we revise and update publications and then publish them as a new edition. Occasionally we may need to amend publications without publishing a new edition. When this happens, we will send details of the amendment to each individual who has previously purchased the publication, using the address we have on file for them. Any amendments made in this way are incorporated into the publication when it is later published as a new edition.
