We’re inviting you to take part in a creative STEM sticker challenge inspired by Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)!
The Challenge
In celebration of British Science Week (6-15 March), STEMboots and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) invites you to take part in an exciting STEM sticker competition!
Your challenge is to create a bold and original STEM-inspired sticker linked to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths!
Whether your idea is funny, clever, or thought-provoking, this is your chance to bring it to life through creativity and imagination.
Who Can Enter
The competition is open to students aged 8–16 years, which includes:
- Key Stage 2 (Years 4–6)
- Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9)
- Key Stage 4 (Years 10–11)
Entries are welcomed from UK schools, individual online participants, and international students worldwide.
Important: Please note that students aged 13 and under entering independently online are required to have a parent or guardian submit the entry on their behalf outside of a school setting.
All entries will be grouped by age category to ensure fair judging!
How To Apply
| 1 | Download the submission form from our Linktree. (This will be where you design your STEM sticker.) |
| 2 | Start by choosing a STEM idea that you find interesting or inspiring. |
| 3 | Next, turn your idea into a bold and creative sticker design using drawings, colours, or clever wordplay. |
| 4 | Make sure your design is clear, eye-catching, and easy to understand as a sticker. |
| 5 | Submit your completed design before the deadline. Please follow the instructions provided on the submission sheet. |

Need Some Inspiration?
Your design can include clever STEM puns and wordplay, famous scientists or inventors, environmental or sustainability themes, space and astronomy ideas, engineering concepts, or maths humour.
There is no single “correct” idea. STEM is all about curiosity, problem-solving and creative thinking.. so let your imagination lead the way!
Key Dates
| 9 March | Competition Launch The competition officially opens during British Science Week. Get ready to start designing! |
| 30 April | Submission Deadline All entries must be submitted by this date. |
| May | Submission Judging Period and Winners Announced Entries will be reviewed by the judging panel and winners will be announced in May. Specific dates will be confirmed nearer the time. |
Prizes
Winning designs will be professionally printed and transformed into real stickers and badges to celebrate your achievement, with even more exciting prizes to be won!
- Each age category will have a winner, giving everyone a fair chance to shine!
- Winners will receive exciting STEM-related prizes to reward their creativity and innovation.
- Entries will be judged on creativity, visual impact, and how clearly they link to STEM.
