Session Title: Has welding had a profound impact on our daily lives?
Bio: My name is Cristian Silviu Ianuc, and I am a CSWIP 3.2.1 Senior Welding Inspector/ QC Coordinator for Verwater Group B.V. Rotterdam in The Netherlands. I enjoy helping people within company from all departments during maintenance and fabrication of new vertical storage tanks.
I graduated from Romanian Engineering University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in shipbuilding and TWI training course for CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector in 2012 and CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector in 2022; experience regarding NDT and BINDT certification (Radiographic Interpreter, Magnetic Testing & Penetrant testing).
My main accomplishment was passing the TWI exams because it opens opportunities to work in different industry sectors: offshore & onshore pipelines, Subsea Steel Structures, Shipyards and Fabrication of Vertical Storage Tanks.
Presentation Summary:
Welding relationships with Engineering, HSEQ, Materials, Welding consumables, Welding equipment, NDT, Standards and specifications, Welding engineer, QA/QC, Budget & project planning.
Welding inspection: Welding inspector duties, carry out visual inspections, coordinate NDT companies, ensure material traceability and marking, provide technical support to production, dimensional checks, asses and report on welds to acceptance levels, prepare ITP and NDT positions, welder testing/ training / qualification, responsible with final documentation.
