Introduction
EEMUA Publication 231 'Mechanical integrity of plant containing hazardous substances: a guide to periodic examination and testing' was developed and written by EEMUA and the Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) in consultation with the UK Health and Safety Executive’s Hazardous Installations Directorate. The publication has been recognised as providing a sound basis from which to develop arrangements for the management and delivery of periodic examinations aimed at maintaining the integrity of plant containing hazardous substances. Although originally for sites falling under the UK regulator, it has developed an international reputation as good practice.
EEMUA has worked with a respected consultancy to produce this one day course based on the guidance. The top level objectives of the course are threefold:
1. Introduce EEMUA 231 as a tool to help:
• Manage the primary containment envelope effectively
• Safely manage ageing plant
2. Organisational arrangements to deliver integrity management:
• Ensuring integrity through periodic examination and testing
• Effective inspection and response to findings – competence at every stage
3. Provide guidance on how to be in line with:
• Legislative requirements
• Good practice
• HSE expectations for managing integrity
It is aimed at the people responsible on a day-to day basis for ensuring mechanical integrity of plant and equipment, primarily those where COMAH Regulations apply, but also those outside the scope of COMAH where there are hazardous substances present. This course will also be of interest to related stakeholders, including operators who are required to be “intelligent customers”, inspection bodies (including ‘competent persons’) and providers of specialist services to the process.
Click the Register button at the top of this page and enter your details. You will need to have all delegate and purchase order details with you as the system cannot save your entries if you exit or navigate away from the page. It is possible for you to register as many colleagues as you like at the same time, as long as they too have a My EEMUA account.
For member company users registering on the website for the first time, please note that there is an additional validation step. In this case, we recommend registering for the course only after the ‘Welcome to EEMUA’ communication has been received. This will ensure that once logged in you will get the discounted rate for the course.
Once the process is completed, you can manage your booking online via the My Events and Training section of My EEMUA.
Permanent employees from EEMUA member companies are entitled to a discount off the standard course fee.
Permanent employees from recognised national regulators may be entitled to a discount off the standard course fee. Please contact the EEMUA office for further details.
