Introduction
The Hazards of Hydrogen in Industrial Applications e-learning module is positioned at the Awareness level and provides a concise introduction to the fundamental properties and behaviour of gaseous hydrogen and the hazards associated with its use in industrial applications. The module introduces a range of hydrogen damage mechanisms and considers their relevance to components, materials and systems used for hydrogen applications. It can be taken as a standalone awareness course or as preparatory learning before engaging with EEMUA Publication 240 in greater detail or participating in related EEMUA mechnanical training. Please note though that the main focus of the learning is ambient hydrogen applications which are at lower temperatures than those covered in EEMUA 240.

EEMUA 240 – Factors to consider when managing high temperature hydrogen attack on petroleum and chemical facilities.
The module will benefit anyone involved in the design, operation, inspection or maintenance of components and systems used for hydrogen applications. It is aimed primarily at engineers, operators, maintenance and inspection personnel, and project managers who require an introductory understanding of hydrogen properties, behaviour and damage mechanisms.
Either completing — but not passing — or passing this e-learning course has no bearing on entry into any other EEMUA training course, but you may choose to take one or more in the area of mechanical integrity as a natural progression.
Instructions for taking the course
Assessment. There is a test at the end of the e-learning consisting of six (randomly-selected) questions with multiple choice multi- or single- answer(s). The informal testing of understanding during the course does not contribute to your final score.
Browsers. The latest version of the Google Chrome web browser is recommended for the best learning experience.
Certification (Completed/ Passed). Those students that finish the course and pass the test at the end will be issued with a certificate showing ‘Passed’. Those students that finish the course (but do not pass the test) will be issued with a certificate showing ‘Completed’. When the certificate appears in a separate tab this is your opportunity to print it out or save to pdf or other format. Please note a certificate at the end of a course is only available via the desktop version. This also means that if you take the course via one of the mobile apps the certificate will then be available from the desktop version.
Course duration. This e-learning should take between 30-90 minutes to complete.

Mobile app versions. These are provided for Android and iOS devices, providing both online and offline options for taking the courses. To access them, please follow the instructions below:
1. Go to either the Apple App or Google Play stores.
2. Install then Open the 'Intuition Rubicon NX' app.
3. Enter the Organisation code as 'eemua'.
4. Log-in to the e-learning with your usual EEMUA portal user name and password.
5. Take the course(s) either online or offline (by downloading the modules).
Navigation. All items must be viewed before you can progress to the next screen.
Sound on. This e-learning course requires audio to be enabled on your device.
Specific navigation aid for multi-item click-throughs. After the instruction ‘Click each icon to learn more’ all items must be viewed before you can progress to the next screen. When in onscreen tabs, you will not be able to move to another tab without pressing all forward arrowed content such as ‘Forward’.
