EEMUA has announced that Dave Bright has stood down from the EEMUA Board after serving as a non-executive Director for six years.
Dave, Head of Process Safety, Tata Steel UK, became a board member in November 2018 and brought a wealth of engineering knowledge and experience from a critical industry sector, and a desire to envisage an ambitious future for the Association. He has taken a significant role in many of the Association’s recent initiatives, including the development of the Asset Integrity Leadership Certificate, supporting leaders for the challenges they face in the key areas consistently highlighted by national safety regulators. Most recently he was Chair of the 2025 EEMUA Conference, celebrating 75 years of the Association.
John Whitfield, EEMUA Chair commented: “I would like to personally thank Dave for his active involvement in his role as a board member of EEMUA over the last six years. Dave was the first board member from the steel industry and brought a wealth of knowledge and experience from the industry to the role. He has been active in steering many of the EEMUA initiatives driven by an enquiring and challenging mindset that has helped shape the organisation of today. I can honestly say I for one have learnt a lot from Dave during our time on the board together. His enthusiasm and professionalism were always present. I wish Dave every success with his new ventures. Stay in touch!”
Stefan Kukula, Chief Executive EEMUA said: “Dave has been a hugely influential “critical friend” to the EEMUA team during his time on the EEMUA Board, and on many occasions has enabled us to see the “bigger picture” when we were considering issues, and actions to address them. He was always someone to be listened to, and we hope EEMUA will still be within listening range in the future!”
The EEMUA Board provides leadership for carrying out the aims and objectives of the Association; primarily to help members and stakeholders worldwide to improve the safety, efficiency, and compliance of some of the world's most important industrial assets.
