Speaker Biographies:

Marcia Ody MBE

Marcia Ody is an independent education consultant and empowerment coach, having worked in
higher education for more than 20 years. She was the Teaching and Learning Manager (Students as
Partners) at the University of Manchester where she had strategic responsibility for peer education
and student engagement. Marcia has a national and international reputation in the field of peer
education, awarded a National Teaching Fellow and an MBE in 2016 as well as being a certified and
passionate Trainer for Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)/Supplemental Instruction (SI).

William Carey SFHEA

A UK-based, European-focussed Educational and Academic Developer, Will has worked with thousands of students and staff to help bring their ideas and voices into focus, and shape their Higher Education experience. Working across Europe (notably Ireland, Sweden and UK) he regularly communicates with small and large groups (400+) and has found ways to develop his confidence in these different settings. Stemming from his early work at The University of Manchester (UK), and Munster Technological University (Ireland), he is passionate about the power and potential of partnerships, and how individuals can communicate well together.

The Novotel Manchester Centre is conveniently located within walking distance of Manchester Oxford Road (0.3 miles), Deansgate (0.5 miles) and Manchseter Picadilly (0.7 miles) Stations. 

Manchester Airport is only a 24 min drive away (8.9 miles) but will be more factoring morning traffic. Parking availbale offsite with 225 spaces.
