Bio: After receiving my degree in Civil Engineering in 2000 with a thesis on probabilistic risk analysis for water projects, Anton has been active as a risk management consultant for the past twenty years assisting a wide range of domestic and international clients with a variety of risk-related topics. Since 2017 Anton works as a self-employed risk consultant and has been mainly active at TenneT, the operator of the Dutch National High Voltage Grid. Here Anton has implemented project risk management and probabilistic analysis both for the onshore and the offshore large projects departments. Anton has been involved as a project risk manager connecting the Borssele offshore wind farms.

Presentation Summary:

This plenary session tackles the complexities of moving away from traditional electricity production towards integrating renewable energy sources into the grid. The focus will be on the challenges of adapting the distribution network to support a sustainable energy future. Attendees will gain insights into the technical, regulatory, and operational hurdles faced during this transition, as well as strategies to enhance grid flexibility and resilience.
