Bio: Douglas is an energy market professional with a proven track record in delivering strategic value to clients requiring emerging technology and new applications development, infrastructure project and market development expertise (from community to complex GW scale).   His recent work has focused on new high value hydrogen and industrial decarbonisation infrastructure development as well as market development considering global climate change and national policy developments from renewable and emissions trading directives to their impact on energy market needs. Douglas has undertaken technical advisory and project lead roles, focusing of blue and green hydrogen and clean fuels giga scale project developments (including green methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel).   

Applying his 40 years’ experience and knowledge across conventional and new energy markets and technologies, Douglas has offered critical insight to client’s overcoming barriers to achieve success be that in implementing net zero strategy and policy developments as well and technology options assessment and commercialisation. His deep understanding of conventional energy systems, networks and infrastructure from working with Rolls Royce, NEL, Doosan, Arup, Equinor and EEMUA has proven critical in the development and deployment of new energy concepts.  

Presentation Summary: 

This presentation provides an overview of the competencies that EEMUA Members see required to effectively manage processes and equipment that may be subjected to effects from Hydrogen Damage Mechanisms (HDM). Incidents related to HDM will be discussed, insights from the research conducted on behalf of the Hydrogen Forum will be shared, and a sneak preview of the forthcoming online training course on HDM will be shown to attendees.
