EEMUA is in Aberdeen this week, at Offshore Europe 2015, showcasing the wide range of support we provide for end users active in Offshore Asset Management.
EEMUA Publication 186 – “A Practitioner’s Handbook for potentially explosive atmospheres” – offers guidance for safe design, installation, inspection and maintenance work in potentially explosive atmospheres when the failure to adopt safe working practices could result in the ignition of flammable gases or combustible dusts. It is based on the requirements of international and European standards. The publication is a result of the collaborative efforts of EEMUA members, whose extensive and exhaustive work on this subject has produced guidance that not only incorporates references to the formal standards, but defines good and best practice and represents the views and experiences of the major users of Ex-rated equipment.
EEMUA 186 is closely associated with the CompEx® training and competency assessment scheme which provides trainees with essential knowledge and practical skills for safe working in potentially explosive atmospheres.
