In the procurement of safety critical engineering equipment and materials the risk of being supplied with counterfeit, or otherwise incorrect, defective, or sub-standard items, components and/or documentation can arise from a great variety of potential sources. Good procurement practices will guard against many of the risks.
Further to the seminar EEMUA held on 19 November 2015, which looked at risk-based procurement, highlighting the risks and discussing the methods of quality assurance of safety critical engineering equipment and materials, we have made publicly available for free download a suggested checklist for procurement practices. The intent is to help in avoiding counterfeit, fraudulent, suspect items (CFSI) in the supply chain.
The checklist is taken from EEMUA 224: "A guide to risk based procurement".
